HI again Amaadi,

You ask: "Is it correct to think that because most of what we eat is raw that food combinations do not matter?"

Our sensory awareness of satiation and our digestive process work best when we consume one food at a time. ALL combinations diminish our effectiveness to at least some small degree. So yes, thoughtful food combining always offers an opportunity for improved vitality.

Best,

Elchanan

Baltimore Family New to Raw Foodism

Greetings:

I am new to the group and have been on the side lines reading the various stories, responses, and conversations being exchanged. I am a mother of two small children and married to a wonderful person. I have decided to dramatically increase our raw food intake on a daily basis. As a result, as some of you are aware, the mucus is flowing, skin erruptions are happening, and slight mood swings are occurring. I do understand that these "side effects" are blessings and the manifestation of our health improving.

In application, we as a family are new to the raw food concept, so I have a few questions.

1. We eat various nuts, seeds, and avocadoes for protein. How do I know when we've overloaded on the protein?

2. Is it accurate to say that because I'm a nursing mother, I should consume at least one cooked/warm meal a day?

3. Is it correct to think that because most of what we eat is raw that food combinations do not matter?

4. What are some simple child-friendly snacks that we can prepare?

Thanks.

Amaadi
