I would certainly like to see the research. I have seen a lot of salt mines on tables at Natural shows .

Different colors from different regions. Each one claiming to be Wonderful . I would like to see the article

Thanks Lynda, already published on this, crossed in the mail, as it were.

Most of the Earth's surface offers no salt (sodium chloride) at all. Were it essential to mammalian life, then mammalian life would not thrive over much of the planet.
