Mucus as a physiological response (WAS: Soy milk cooked)

Yes, mucus is one of the body's first-line responses to the entrance of foreign matter ... in this case, material that we believe is food but that is not.

The body produces mucus in certain areas (the mucus membranes ... respiratory and digestive systems, for our purposes here) to wrap and remove foreign matter ... physical material that would harm the body if it were to come into and remain in contact with the body. The mucus is a relatively thick, wet medium that acts as a barrier between the foreign matter and the body's own tissues, and that transports the foreign matter out of the body, or into another part of the body where the foreign matter can be more safely processed and eliminated.

keep also in mind that soybeans are the most mucus producing plant base on the planet. Ive completely taken it out of my diet, even before i went raw.

Hi Scott,

I have not researched this thoroughly, so please receive my response with that in mind. I have the impression that all unsprouted soy products are, in fact, cooked.

Soy has become a darling of the food industry because it's protein more closely resembles animal protein, in certain respects, than does the protein of any of the other potential "cash crops". This is not a good thing for humans!

Is it true that soy milk is actually considered cooked? I was reading an article, which mentioned soy beans are toxic and must be cooked before being eaten, or used for milk.--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature. If man made it, don't eat it.100% Raw Vegan
