Hi Allison,

I can speak only for myself in this. I do not avoid situations...what we

resist, persists.

Rather, I look to modify how I respond on the inside to what I may

experience. And over time, I attract more and more of what I would love to

have in my life, and correspondingly less and less of what I would not

prefer.

Best,

Elchanan

New Raw Foodist

Greetings,

My husband and I are attempting to become raw foodist. I find it amazing

how many distractions there are when one is attempting change.

We have been working on this for a week now and my husband is self- employed

and I work in corporate america. I always eat a salad at lunch time, but

the other day the sister that I eat with asked me if I wanted a hamburger

out of the clear blue sky, she even offered to pay for it. I said no thank

you of course. I have not eaten beef in over 30 years. The next situation

I encountered was going out with my neighbor...she loves to cook and eat.

We went clothing shopping and afterwards ended up getting a seafood dinner.

So today, I am going to try and stay in and get my raw food menu together

for the week. I know I am just going on and on, just needed to vent a

little.

How do you avoid these situations, I would like to hear any stories you may

have.

Peace and Love

When I was a kid I had severe "allergies". Took pills, shots, avoided foods, etc. When I first went raw in the 70's one of the first things to go were my supposed allergies. From that I knew that the world has a listening for allergies. They don't understand what they are, or what causes them, but they accept that they exist. So, I started to - and still do when required - tell people that I am allergic to those foods. It's something they can hear without being defensive and without making me wrong. It allows me to direct where we eat to a place where I know I can get something that fits my requirements and they can always find something for themselves to. They wind up feeling like they've been supportive and it's just no big deal. With friends, they of course know the real scoop on my diet and if they are still friends, our friendship isn't based on agreements on food. .wynThe Raw Retreathttp://www.TheRawRetreat.como) 888.EAT.RAW4LIFEf)  877.236.6999
