Thank you for your intelligent and caring response. Briefly, my PTSD

resulted from my witnessing a number of Pilots and crew members being killed

when I worked on the flight deck of an Aircraft Carrier in the 60‘s. I saw

several planes crash. The clinical depression began after 911. Up until

that time I have rarely been ill. The Psychiatrists at the VA reasoned

that since I grew up in NYC, and I helped build High Rise Buildings for a

living, that watching those planes crashing into the World Trade Center

triggered the memories of the horror I witnessed those many years ago.

God Bless the staff at the VA hospitals. I have nothing but praise for the

dedication and knowledge many of those well meaning professionals bring to

their often thankless tasks. And God Bless the tax payers that foot the

bill.

As a patient, I was advised to begin anti-depressant drug therapy. After

several bad reactions and reading the warnings contained on the labels, I

decided instead to follow a regiment of meditation, yoga, calisthenics,

power walking 3+ miles a day, and ‘eating right’- vegan and raw..

As a result, over time, my health has returned to a 100+ % of where it was

before this happened, albeit a little older, a little wiser. I know this is

not a place to get up on my soap box so to speak. But on any given night

there are over 250 thousand homeless Veterans here in the US. This is

unconscionable. PTSD touches many lives. Think about their families and

children, their siblings, and the people who love them. Thank you everyone

for you time.
