Doctor/health consultant

Hey everybody,

Can anybody recommend a good doctor or health consultant for me? I'm

98% vegan, 50% or so raw. A good understanding of vegan and raw

health and nutrition would be very helpful.

I recently went out and cheated on my vegan diet with a cup of mocha

and a serving of tiramisu. Within an hour of eating I started getting

the shakes and felt horrible, almost passing out. I've had some bad

reactions from cheese before, and I figure there may have been quite

a bit of dairy in the tiramisu. I also may have a heart problem and

possibly the caffeine was too much for my body. I just don't know.

I live in the Greenwood/Ravenna area of Seattle and am looking for

someone close by preferable as I am carfree.

Thanks! Cheers!

If you want the best results, find someone that uses kinesiology to

determine what you need. I recommend Dr. Michael Fuhrman, a

Chiropractor and Certified Applied Kinesiologist. He is in Ballard:

I see Dr. Bruce Milliman, at Seattle Healing Arts (near 64th and

Roosevelt.) He's a naturopathic physician. While not a vegan or raw

foodist, he seems fascinated with my raw diet. He is certainly

open-minded and seems interested in how a raw/vegan diet affects

health.

Nora (rawschool.com) is very knowledgeable in natural/raw food health.

Re: heart issues, caffeine and alcohol can certainly have an effect on

that. I suspect that the increased acidity in some foods (caffeine,

alcohol, etc.) may increase symptoms, such as heart palpitations from

mitral valve prolapse, etc., especially when eaten together with dairy,

lady fingers, and whatever else they put in there. As you are eating a

fairly clean diet that would be more of a shock to the body.
