On giving in to a spouse/partner (WAS: RF and the dangers of entering the American medical system (WAS: giving blood))

Hi Ramona,

Thanks for sharing all this about your personal experience and concerns.

What I say next, I realize is of a personal nature, and I realize that each

of us must choose for him/herself. With that in mind ...

I have heard this exact conversation, almost word-for-word, from many people

(usually women) when one member of a couple embraces RF and the other does

not. As I have written recently in one or another recent post in one or

another of these many RF groups, embarking upon the RF journey brings us

face-to-face with ourselves in ways the encompass far more than our diet.

Here, you may be faced with choosing between what genuinely feels or seems

right to you, for yourself, on one hand, and doing something to accommodate

or appease another, in this case your husband, on the other.

I can only assure you that when someone comes from fear, as he clearly seems

to, NO amount of testing will likely assuage that fear. There is always one

more condition, one more virus, one more whatever, to be afraid of, in a

system that exists entirely upon a foundation of fear.

The germ theory provides the cornerstone of modern medical " practice " . All

other notions of causation, such as viruses, genetics, and the like derive

from this underlying theory. And the core premise of the germ theory is that

our species, humanity, is in a war with Nature, wherein Nature is filled

with demonic ( " pathogenic " ) species out to do us in. That such a proposition

is absurd, in that no species could ever long survive in such a war with

Nature, does not even cause the medical and related industries to pause for

a breath. Instead, they continue down their path of " research " , diagnosis,

prognosis, and treatment, in a never-ending and utterly futile endeavor

intended to CONTROL Nature.

But our intent is entirely opposite: to understand Nature in order that we

may live in harmony with Nature.

I can only tell you that I have rarely seen an instance where someone " went

along " , " gave in " , or the like, to " help make someone comfortable " , and

experienced positive results. All that does is open the door to more

badgering, more fear-mongering, and the like. And please do not be fooled in

case the message is delivered sweetly and lovingly, for fear is still fear,

a rose by any other name is still a rose.

If you perceive no benefit to yourself of having a test, then have no test.

It is inconceivable that any test will prevent your " getting " or " catching "

whatever malady ( " diagnosis " ) others already " have " , if you have already

been " exposed " , all of course said using medical terminology.

You are fine, you have only to realize it and face it and live it ... and

invite your husband and others, at the very least, simply to respect your

choices. After all, do you send HIM for a test every time he eats at

McDonald's? Perhaps you should! (half in jest, anyway).

Just my own thoughts ...

Elchanan

Thank you for your reply. Victoria Boutenko had warned that a lower white

blood cell count was a possible sign that could occur in our future.

I had thought that if that ever occurred for me that I would celebrate the

validation of this chosen life style. I do understand that there is a risk

involved when we venture into tradtional society.

I was just hoping to see if anyone had any actual experience with giving

blood after being raw.

It is a challenge to live along side others who do not understand our

chosen lifestyle. I have cooked and still cook for my family but I do not

eat it.

My husband has been on my case to have regular medical tests because some of

his coworkers are having health issues and he is afraid I will develop these

maladies because I chose not to have regular test. I have explained that I

am concerned that the readings could be very different and therefore

misinterpreted. He counters by asking why have there not been any studies

on raw fooders. I answer that is a very good question, but most likely

because it would open up a life style that is healther and cheaper to

maintain than the current status quo.

We have to be a part of this society that we live in and not apart from it.

It is only through understanding and tolerance that we will develop

community. I am not sure what I will do yet. I am still thinking about it.

Someone always has to be the first to cross a barrier so that others may

follow. I don't know if I am to be the one to cross this particular

barrier.

Thank You again for your information and thoughts.

-------------- Original message --------------

" Elchanan " <Elchanan Hi Ramona, There is a real

catch-22 here. On one hand, we would all love to share generously with

others and to help those in need. Of course, this includes those injured and

requiring surgery.

BUT ... as we RFs become progressively healthier, our physiology changes

dramatically, over time. One such change is that our white cell activity

diminishes considerably. From a mainstream medical perspective, a " normal "

white cell count is in the range 5000-10,000. But in many RFs, the white

cell count decreases to around 3000 and even a bit below.

You see, many of the symptoms of health are also symptoms of incapacity. In

a very healthy person, the low white blood cell count reflects a diminished

need for defensive activity. In contrast, in a very sick person, a

diminished white blood cell count signals systemic loss of vitality ... what

the mainstream calls degenerative " disease " .

So here's the rub: If you were to go and give blood, they would type your

blood and screen it for AIDS and other sundry diagnoses. Now the FIRST test

for AIDS is a white blood cell count, and if you were to show up with a low

white blood cell count ... a sign of health in YOU ... you might be flagged

as requiring further AIDS testing; your name might be involuntarily entered

into various databases in which you probably do not wish to have your name

entered.

So, although I am a most generous person, I have learned to give to those

who are ready, willing, and able to receive what I have to give now. And in

the medical system, that's a reasonably dangerous proposition.

The problem is that you cannot know before the fact what may happen. So from

my perspective, ANY venture into the American medical world is risky, at

best.

Sorry, I realize this is probably QUITE different than what you may have

anticipated in response to your inquiry.

Best,

Elchanan

Re: [RawSeattle] Re: giving blood

I used to give blood occasionally before I became RAW.

However, once I changed my lifestyle, I lost so much weight, that I did not

weigh enough to give blood any longer.

For the last several months I have been slowly gaining weight.

Note: I have not changed my habits and I choose to fast two days a week, and

yet my body is adjusting by gaining weight.

I now weigh enough to give blood. I was just wondering if anyone else has

given blood, while raw and what their experiences were.

Thank you for your comments
