Guest guest
Hi Breezi, I keep forgetting how this works, so I took a look and wrote it down. It looks like that your 4 digit PLU is assumed to have a " 0 " in front of it, so in this case it is assumed to be conventional produce, grown with chemicals, but not genetically modified. From page 7 in www.plucodes.com/docs/IFPS-plu_codes_users_guide.pdf Fifth (Leading) Digit Qualifier The IFPS shall be responsible for deciding the assignment and definition of qualifying prefix digits for international recognition. At present, only three digits have been allocated: 0 Applies to all non-qualified produce and is generally presented without the leading " zero " digit. 8 Genetically modified 9 Organic May your day be filled with clarity, grace, progress, and warm laughter, Roger - " Bob & Breezi " <bobandbreezi <RawSeattle > Saturday, November 11, 2006 10:51 AM [RawSeattle] Fruit sticker? > My husband brought home some apples that have a sticker on them that I > have not seen before.
