Hello,

I'll be visiting from out of town in a few weeks. Where is the best

place to buy durian?

Thanks!

My favorite place is Lam's Seafood Market, 1221 S King St, Seattle,

Washington - Phone: 206-720-0969

They usually have a good selection of durian and a good price. When

whole durian is not available they usually have frozen 1 pound bags. As

another option, just up the hill on 12th Ave S is Hau Hau Market (412

12th Ave S). Diagonally across the road from Hau Hau is another market

(forgot the name) that usually has durian. It's at the corner of 12th

Ave S and S Jackson

Hope to meet you while you're here. Hopefully we'll have a potluck

while you're in town.

Jeff

stuff the durian! its seattle not asia.. i was in taiwan last week and

got some fresh stuff.

am in seattle now and picking wild blueberries, blackberries,

raspberries, apples, pears, nashi, plums, greens... packed with bonus

b12 too! lol!

if you want durian, its still good season in southern thailand.

overwise if your really desperate for fumigated, dipped, boiled ,

irradiated durian, then your local asian shop will have em.

Gee thanks for that great, uplifting post Harley. Some of us poor slubs still

have to go to work and can't make it to Thailand any time in the near future.

I'm still going to eat what is in the stores around here and in Vancouver.

i reckon im the poorest slub in this group. i slept on a park bench in

singapore to afford my first red prawn durian. i rode my bike 3500km

around thailand and singapore, donating blood to local mosquito

colonies to find the best durians.

my taxable income this year was around 6000$ US. and i spent half of

that to attend doug grahamas raw vegan sports camp.

money is no longer a barrier for me. if i want something i find a way,

and if i cant find a way, i make one.

hey i used to eat boxes of that frozen stuff they call durian. but

after eating ones that i heard fall to the ground in the orchard.....

we are all worth noisemaker, tree ripened, morning gathered, tropical

squirel selected, local , organic, hor lor durian.
