Guest guest
Personal chef's catering business gets by on raw talent Wed, Sep. 13, 2006 http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/living/15496421.htm? source=rss & channel=centredaily_living - or - http://tinyurl.com/maatx Six months ago, I heard a rumor of someone starting a raw foods catering business and, I admit, I gave it a dismissive shrug, " Raw foods. What interest is that to a cook? Just another flash in the 'pan' food faddist, here for a semester and all set to convince hopeless non-believers, " I thought, wrongly, to myself. When I finally met April Myers at the Friday afternoon State College farmers' market, I was convinced not by the healthful glow of her appearance or her radiant smile, and not by the samples of her delicious, ferociously garlicky cumin-scented hummus and dill-infused sunflower seed pate. Watching her interact with her customers at the market, I was transported back in time to the 1970s when the only cookbooks I bought espoused natural foods, a time when food was going to change the world.
