Guest guest
Two things: If you have a child entirely raised as a raw baby/child who is now 6 months of age to adulthood please be in touch (_sussmank_ (sussmank) ). Looking to have others to share issues and questions with (maybe start a separate group unless you know of a good/active one- please share if a good one exists). Raw kids who transitioned are welcome too but make sure that is stated. (my baby's father wants to hear from the purists to compare growth) ALSO- QUESTION for the entire group: Must my son be consistently living up to a specific child Growth Chart percentile??? *** Should we be concerned? We had our raw vegan baby's 18 mo check up Friday(checkup are now running about a month late). He's 19 mo and almost a week old My son is on the Pediatrician's regular (mostly formula fed kids I assume) growth chart at 75 percentile in height (up since last check up) and is about the 50th in weight. Head circ has slowed down- now at 19 3/4 " The ped says all is good. His father is another story, he's overly anal about the baby's numbers. I've just charted the baby on the latest WHO (World Health Organization) height and weight charts for breast fed children. It looks like he had a growth spurt from 9-12 mo but no real growth in the next 3 mo (maybe measuring error at 1 year as he measured 32 at 12.6 mo but 31.5 at 16 mo.!). The last 3 mo 16-19 mo old he grew 1.5 inches- so he looks similar to 9 mo on the percentile on the height breast fed chart. His weight looks like it's down a little although it is above the 50 perct. on the breast fed chart. My son was exclusively breast fed- no solids until about 6 weeks ago. Now he is on mostly breastmilk and 1-2 all raw food meals a day. I recall hearing various people saying their baby dropped a lot farther than mine in percentile at various points in the first year or so of life. Please refresh my memory if you had one of those stories and how it worked out. Also does anyone have any observations or comments about my son's situation? Note: First foods so far- avocado, sweet potato, hemp powder, flax oil, soon to be almond butter (watered down). Thanks! Guest guest
im a raw vegan athlete. the people that call me skinny can NEVER beat me in bench press , running or cycling... we live in a society of fatties. so when we get healthy, we get lean. and we dont fit the 'norm'.
