Guest guest
Just a quick reminder: As everyone receiving these emails has already rec'd the previous emails, they do not need to receive those again through YOUR replies. If you are hitting " Reply " and you are not deleting previous text, then you are likely one of the culprits! If you reply to a post on this list, please take the time to delete any unnecessary text (that may mean any text other than your comments, or any text you are not specifically addressing.) If, out of a previous 1-page email you are commenting on only 1 sentence, them please delete all but the 1 sentence (if you feel it important to keep that sentence.) If your email program does not allow you to do this, then please copy the 1 sentence (or paragraph, etc.) to a new email. Then you may edit the text as necessary, add the appropriate " Subject " then send it. This helps focus the communication on the list. This is especially beneficial to those on the " Daily Digest " who receive one " Digest " of emails for the day. Those people then need to scroll all the way through one message to get to the next message. If someone has replied to a 2-page email and simply says " Thanks! " , then a person would have to read through the original 2 pages, then the " thanks " , then scroll through the repeated 2 pages, etc.. Occasionally, this is repeated by many posts, so the same 2 page text could be repeated 4-5 times or more! This issue has recurred since this list began. Let's make it a non-issue. I invite you to change your settings to " Daily Digest " for a few days to understand this. If there are many points to be addressed from a previous, then, on the reply, trim to specific comments, then address each one (remember- in a friendly manner). If you have any questions about this, feel free to email me off-list or talk to me at a potluck. For any issues on this list, please feel free to email myself or Orion. As we sometimes receive a lot of emails some days, also make an effort to focus your posts. For some topics and points, brevity may not be easy or possible, but keeping them concise and to the point will help with the volume of text and may help keep people's focus and attention. Please, always feel free to invite people to contact you off-list for more information/clarification. If there is a web site/page with the information, feel free to introduce it briefly, then offer the link. That keeps in-boxes lighter and still provides the information. We have had some fascinating information (IMO) recently. If it is not on the web, perhaps we can arrange to place it somewhere for new-comers or for future reference. Thank you all for you help!
