Guest guest
My 16 yr. old daughter and I are just now researching raw foodism. Been vegetarian (me for 30 yrs., she since birth). Got a food allergy test and discovered I was sensitive to 23 foods so since I was about 50% raw, decided to look into it further. My daughter never seems to feel well (she is getting tested soon). Anyway, this sounds like a great group, but we look like we will be moving to Port Townsend this summer. Been camping there forever off and on. Does anyone know of a raw food group there? We know about the great food coop there. Can someone also give a tasty recipe for a green drink w/a VitaMix (no gluten grasses or corn). I have had a VitaMix for the last 30yrs. Mine did have a problem when I left the center dial on high after flipping the switch to high on the left. I guess you are supposed to turn the dial back to zero. Also, I don't have much luck grinding some things in there like our coconut, water, and agave. Thks for any advice, Suzanne

No, but I'm pretty sure there is one. Got invited to a raw potluck out there once but didn't make it down from the mountains in time. > Can someone also give a tasty recipe for a green drink w/a VitaMix (no gluten > grasses or corn). See Richard's post further down. There are just so many variations, I don't really follow a recipe. Start with enough water to cover the blades, and some leaves of whatever...kale, dandelion, mint, whatever you like...if you want to add root vegetables like carrot or sunchoke, add them at this point also, could add a few walnuts...and then blend that up at least part way, starting slow. You can then go multiple directions. Tomato, avo, cayenne for a mexican flavor. If you didn't add roots, you could add fruit such as frozen blueberries, or fresh fruit like mangos or melon or cherries. Just try different combinations that sound tasty to you. > Also, I don't have much luck grinding some things in there like our coconut, > water, and agave. Did you use young coconut? I'm not sure it would work with mature coconut, which is what you normally find in the stores. Stephen
