Guest guest
I'm home now from my 8 weeks stay on Maui. Highlights were finding a work trade on the rural east side and eating fresh from the Earth: avodadoes, bananas, oranges, lemons, coconuts, papayas, greens, and trying some new tropical fruits, plus I enjoy steamed taro & breadfruit.. The rest of the island sadly has mostly imported foods, even Mana Foods in Paia town was mostly off island produce. But, the store did have a raw food deli section with a delicious Mana Food wrap and many deserts to choose from. Very decatent. In the main central town there was a Saturday swap meet that I'm told had fresh produce, but I never made it in for the event. This year was very cool and extra wet for the area, but much warmer than the NW. Next year I'm hoping for Costa Rica. It really seems the more rural you can get when you travel, the easier it is to live and eat close to the earth. Dancing in the garden home again.
