Guest guest
Hi All, I've seem several posts regarding water which has been my interest for years having designed water systems which are now in many health food stores in the US and Canada. Perhaps the best observations regarding water and hydration comes from the research of Robert O Young, PhD, DSc (author 7 books) with his blood research for the last 30 years. What he has found is that by the time the " thirst " craving comes on, the body is already way too depleted of water stores. And that many of the " dis-eases " in humanity are directly related to not having enough waters going through the body to sustain all the chemical and electrical functions. His recommendations are to start out at 1 liter per each 50 lbs of body weight per day. Then when get comfortable with that level of hydration. Increase it to 1 liter per 40 lbs and then get to the point of 1 liter per 30 lbs which is the ideal level of hydration. And pure water of course. Like fresh made RO, DI or distilled with TDS of less than 5ppm would be recommended. The book " Your Body's Many Cries for Water " by F. Batmanghelidj, MD is another book which gets into how the body creates dis-eases when the levels of hydration are less than adequate. My own experiences are that when I have less than the amount of hydration needed, for sure, all kinds of weird stuff happens to my body and then when I bump up the water volume those weird things go away. During summers I like jogging on the animal trails (sky jogging) above tree line in the mountains and water burns out of my body rather quickly and its very easy to get caught out on a mountain side without enough moisture to get me back to the 4x4 to get home. It took me several years to catch on and now that " camelbacks " are around, its much easier to stay hydrated. St:

FWIW, my massage practitioner notices a distinct improvement in people's skin when they drink plenty of water.
