Guest guest
I am starting a living foods, (raw) eating plan in the week ahead to overcome a life long sugar addiction. I would welcome the opportunity for some mutual support if there is anyone else in this group on this same path right now. I would also welcome suggestions and accounts of others who have walked this path before me. I am in the seattle area until may or so when I will return to orcas island, if that makes a difference. -stephen guy
Guest guest
I hope you have yourself (maybe you already have) checked out by a naturopath who can determine if there is a yeast problem or some other imbalance that contributes to the craving. I have found that when my craving comes back I have to stick to greens and veggies, up my protein and minimize the whole fruit. Later I can have a goodie without it bouncing me into a cycle of craving. Guest guest
You could also have hypoglycemia caused by the overproduction of insulin by the pancreas. I've read that blueberries are the safest fruit to eat when you have blood sugar problems. I'd get a professional opinion from a herbalist or naturopath if the craving is severe. It needs to be addressed at the physical level as well as the emotional level. Guest guest
Stephen, You might want to look into, " Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine " by Gabriel Cousens, MD. www.treeoflife.nu " a relatively low-sugar and low mycotoxic approach that reverses chronic degenerative disease " . I just ordered a copy from Amazon. Yes, it's a raw food book. Lois

Guest guest
Good luck on your new diet. I might add that you might check at your library for the Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine, as I hear phase 1 is pretty restrictive, but does contain tons of phase 2 recipes that are rich and decadent.
