Guest guest
Anyone care to share their favorite juice bars in Seattle area? By juice bar i mean a place where you can get veggie or wheatgrass juice, preferably organic (ie not just a smoothie place). I'm already familiar with Chaco Canyon (which serves great juice) in U. district, and the PCC in Issaquah (has a great selection of organic veggies), and of course Jamba Juice does wheatgrass, which has helped me more than once in various locales. I don't know if any of the other PCCs have a juice bar. Also, I know of Madison Market, but haven't had their juice yet so any comments about it are helpful. I like to know where all the juice bars are in any area where I am living, even if I am doing my own juice at home...for one, they offer a shot of nutrition while out and about in the area, and also, they just seem to be good energy points and its always nice to meet the people involved in the good karma of serving the juice, or the other people coming forth to the magical green oasis. Thanks in advance, Stephen

My favorite is no longer in operation, alas -- the Gravity Bar, which was in the Broadway Market when that still existed. They offered a Dragonslayer: ginger, lemon, garlic, cayenne. Guest guest
Jamba Juice is good for wheatgrass juice, which I understand is not sprayed with anything. Nothing there is organic though. PCC Greenlake has a juice bar. PCC Fremont does not have a juice bar at the new location, but does serve fresh wheatgrass juice. Madison Market (Central Co-op) serves very good juice and offers a juice card to earn a free juice. Rainbow Natural Grocery serves fresh organic juices. 417 15th Ave E, Seattle 98112 Whole Foods market does have a juice bar, but NO organic last time I asked (months ago.) Nature's Pantry in Bellevue serves fresh organic juice. 10201 NE 10th Street Sno Isle Natural Foods Co-op in Everett serves fresh juices. Interesting - the Incomplete Foods on 65th had organic wheatgrass about a month ago, but it was labeled for cats and said explicitly that it wasn't for humans. Guest guest
I might be able to talk Chris into offering this drink. It was my favorite as well! If we don't put it on the menu you could always ask us to make it for you. When I'm there I do it! Another tip for ya'll: The flu buster (which is essentially a dragon slayer in apple and orange juice) is GREAT cold! -Heather, the raw foodist who works at Chaco Anthony D'Atri <aad wrote: > Anyone care to share their favorite juice bars in Seattle area? Guest guest
Madison Market is great and there is a place on 45th in Wallingford called Juice Goddess I believe that is good. It is almost right across the street from the QFC. Guest guest
Nature's Pantry in Bellevue (in the same building with University Book Store) has a juice bar. I haven't been there in a while, but if they are still there, they have organic juice. They only sell organic produce in their store. Guest guest
Well, if it won't hurt a cat, it won't hurt humans! Some people are more careful with their pets bodies than they are with their own. Guest guest
I asked them about this and they said they only put that on there for liability reasons. -Daniel On Mar 2, 2006, at 10:50 PM, Anthony D'Atri wrote: > >> Whole Foods market does have a juice bar, but NO organic last time I >> asked (months ago.) > > Interesting - the Incomplete Foods on 65th had organic wheatgrass > about a month ago, but it was labeled for cats and said explicitly > that it wasn't for humans. Guest guest
Hi Gang, > Jamba Juice is good for wheatgrass juice, which I understand is not > sprayed with anything. Nothing there is organic though.... > Jeff Boy I'd be leary about buying anything from Jamba Juice aside from wheatgrass. Everything is and I quote " flash frozen " . As if one doesn't destroy many of the molecules, and curlian energy after such an action. The picture I get in my mind is someone gently rocking a baby to sleep and then snapping their neck quickly. Oh that makes it so much more gentle . However, I also worked there for two hours in 2002 I think, just long enough to go through their training and get a better offer from a higher paying opportunity. They use fruit flavored corn syrups for many of their ingredients. Virtually all the exotic or particularly expensive ingredients were syrups like mango, passion fruit, blue berries, etc... What was whole and not frozen at the time of mixing was grapefruit, oranges, and apples. However, strawberries and bananas were at least frozen and not a syrup. Nonetheless, if you can make it yourself, or buy it somewhere else, I recommend doing so. Cheers, Christian
