Guest guest
About 20 years ago there was a book published by the title " Beyond Blackberries " that describes the wild fruit and vegetables that grow in the Seattle area and the public areas where you can find them free for the picking. (Across from Lincoln Park in W. Seattle there are Bosc pear trees). Anyway, you can sometimes find the book in used bookstores - I got my copy from Flora and Fauna in Pioneer Square (worth a trip anyway). I gave it to someone when I moved away, if I remember who it was I'll see if they would make copies. Here's the info from Amazon.com, but no copies appear to be available. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006DCS4W/104-7278161-1165504?v=glance & n=28315\ 5 Occaisionally there are classes on wild foraging through the UW extension, but I had trouble finding one when I wanted it. Hope this helps.
