Guest guest
Happy Holiday Greetings to all ~ My sweetie and I were enjoying a nice hike near Coeur d'Alene on Veterans' Day when I slipped and broke my ankle and tore some ligaments. I didn't have pain at the time, and instead experienced what someone has called " synesthesia " -- I saw a picture of my foot in a bright sunshine yellow in my mind's eye. Then my foot felt as though it was asleep. I have experienced virtually no pain. I wasn't able to have the surgery until this past Friday because I developed " fracture blisters " from the swelling happening faster than my skin could adapt. Immediately after the surgery, I had some pain which seemed like it was probably from the incision. That was only until late evening. Since I have again been pain free. (I now have a plate and six or seven screws holding my ankle together.) Other than fresh grapefruit juice in the morning, I have been having green smoothies, occasionally with comfrey and usually without banana for lunch and dinner. Have you or anyone you know experienced breaking a bone while being raw? Are my experiences usual? Is pain something that for the most part disappears when our systems aren't clogged up with toxins? I'm curious to hear all ideas. Thank you. Annette
Guest guest
Annette! I wondered where you had disappeared to. Sorry about the ankle and yes, what you described fit my shattered wrist to a " t " . I took about 2 pain pills and was out of my cast in 4 weeks less than the doctor predicted. The less pain medication we take the faster we heal. Pain is the signal to our brain to start doing some healing. People just don't understand that pain really does have a function.
