Guest guest
Sounds to me like people enjoy isolating themselves from being human; ie: voicing human issues like: being a spiritual being having a human experience and I can say that requires that most of us earn a living wage in a world that is other than supportive of " unconventional " meaning non-processed foods. some of us have the courage to make and market our own products and to bring a loving product to the table of our brethren and sistren. i find it quite dissapointing and appaling to feel unwelcome by the very people who could be supporting the next seven generations by supporting my endeavors for the consciousness of those who are blessed enough to appreciate the love and care of these humble hands. Namaste and Best Regards. I bid you all Adieu! I'll do my business where it is truly appreciated. I bid you all Adieu! Raw Tidings of Abundance: the Open Gate is on the other shore ! Guest guest
I thought Raw Seattle was about supporting the raw community. So with all this talk of " no personal gain " , does that mean that Jeff can no longer talk about his Vice Cream and his book? Shakti cannot vend her marvelous cookies? The notices about the vegan/raw holiday fair will not be seen. Oh my, no more notices from Chaco Canyon either!! There will be no talk of classes for heavens sake, someone might be making a living doing that! Don't think I'll stick around this list any longer if that be the case. That's why I'm here. I don't visit the website. I depend on this list to get the word to me. And I'd like to point out that one of the people wanting the ban HAS " advertised " their own wares on this very list! Shame on you. Shari
Guest guest
I agree with Shari, I like knowing when an event is coming up (that money is often charged for) or when a new product that I might want comes out, or when Madison Market has a new raw product. I don't think it has become excessive at all. Guest guest
> I thought Raw Seattle was about supporting the raw community. IMHO, there's a difference between support and exploitation, and I see exploitation and cooler-than-thou attitudes in this community to a far greater extent than I have in any other. > So with all this talk of " no personal gain " I don't mind an occasional ad. A relentless succession of them is a different story, or a vaguely-described link to a site with a huge video selling EST or something. > marvelous cookies? Guest guest
Hi Shakti, The discussion that you've responded to below is about how much marketing is too much. That's all it's about. It's not about people isolating themselves from being human, or any of the other things that you've implied. It really is only about how much marketing is too much. As you are one of the marketers, I understand how it may have seemed like a personal attack, but it wasn't. We are all involved in the raw food path, and one way we can all do our part in making the world a better place for the next seven generations is to allow open discussion when someone has a problem about something on our raw food support list. If you want to market your products as often as possible on the list, let Jeff know, because he has asked for input. And your voice is as important as any other.
