One place you probably COULD convince to allow you to demonstrate this... FEAR FACTOR! If they had an option between some nasty animal product and e-coli, you could take the e-coli (and, or course, do the physical challenges as well.) Their show is BASED on fear. Try writing the producers a note. It's true that Fear Factor is edgy, but I think they are just as beholden to commercial interests as every other tv show. I guess I'm a bit of a fatalist about that particular avenue. Somehow truth and tv just don't seem to go together...
