Guest guest
Hey all, Once the respective soaking time for seeds and nuts have been reached, how long can they be stored in the refrigerator until I am ready to put the entire raw recipe together in the food processor/ dehydrator? I assume you do a final rinse before putting in the food processor and then stick them in the fridge? Also is 50-65 degrees F also OK to let things sit until going into the recipe? The garage is about that temperature and my fridge is totally full! Also do you toss the soaking water when you are done or use it? I just soaked organic raw almonds organic raw pumkin seeds hulled organic raw sesame seeds organic sundried tomatoes flax seeds Is this info available online somewhere? I've looked but have not found anything Thanks! -Daniel Johnson (Greenwood neighborhood, new to Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine)
Guest guest
Daniel, For starters, I have heard once the nuts and seeds are soaked that you can dehydrate them for later use. The Top Raw Men say you can refrigerate up to 3 days. I hope this helps? Remember to keep the dehydrator below 120 degrees F.. And, you might need to keep them colder than 65 degrees, as well. Good Luck, and welcome to the living foods lifestyle. Guest guest
I would toss the soaking water. The water will have absorbed many of the undigestable enzymes which you won't want to ingest. Rinse your nuts and seeds really well. You can change the water a few times while they're soaking as well to ensure that the seeds or nuts will be more digestible. If you're storing soaking/soaked nuts or seeds in the refrigerator, I store them in their soaking water in their container. Then rinse them before using. Otherwise, I think if they were post-soaked without water, that the moisture could encourage mold growth or general funkiness. Soaked sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds make great milk. I like to make milk out of pumpkin seeds and add a little cinnamon and agave. It's so good and so rich.
