yummy apricots from U district farmers' market

I bought lots of apricots today, three varieties. I got two kinds from R

& R farm (nw corner of the market). One is $3/# (didn't see what was

called) and the other is Royal, $4/#. The first one 13 brix. Royals are

smaller but sweeter, about 14, 15 brix. There are also two varieties

from Cliffside (on the south side). I bought a big bag of Sun Glows.

They are the best, brix 16, 16, 17 fuzzy (three samples). They are

bigger and of a golden color with sort of (don't know how to describe)

like sun scorched spots. They are fully tree-riped. When you eat them

you have to take a bite with your lips covering the fruit and quickly

suck up the syrupy pulp (slurp, slurp) :-P , or it'll squirt all over.

 

I bought Butterscotch melons from the River Farm. They are my favorite,

very sweet with a heady aroma.
