Hi gang,

Here is a link to an article about green smoothies by Victoria B.

http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/green_smoothies.html

it has a lot of good info and recipes about green smoothies.

So far, I have tried Kale, apple, lemon, and added raspberries and

it's devine! I have been drinking this variation for about 2-3 weeks

now (as I have lots of kale and raspberries in my garden at the

moment.)

Yesterday, with the hot weather, I did Kale, pear, mint (plus a

little apple) and it was really good. The mint really was cooling

and refreshing. This morning I am trying kale (one fistfull), kiwi

(1),lemon balm (couple of 4 inch sprigs), and yellow plum (2) and

water. WOW! I just took a sip of it! hahaha! it's insanely

delicious.

Kevin went to Victoria's class last week, and from what he told me,

that I am really excited about, is the foraging aspect of these green

smoothies. You can just gather edible weeds and herbs from around

you and toss a few in!

I am doing this with my salads now as well.

I grabbed some red orach, some dandilion, chives, pineapple mint,

lemon balm, bitter lettuce that is going to seed and use that like

an herb, and some basil and whatever else I see and I give it a chop,

I chop them all together and sprinkle all over my salad and the

tastes are just WILD! all I am using for dressing is some cold

pressed flax oil and a little lemon.

Summertime inspired, with love,

Trish
