Guest guest
I am once again planning my annual trip to the Oregon Country Fair and would like to know if anyone is interested in going. The Oregon Country Fair (oregoncountryfair.org) is July 8,9, and 10. It is out in the woods on a property purchased by The Grateful Dead. There are lots of stages for great music, lots of craft booths and lots of food booths. There is one food booth that makes nothing but raw pies!!! There is another booth I found that serves organic greens and (I believe) a raw dressing. The fair is solar powered, so is environmentally friendly. I usually attend the fair on Friday (discounted and not quite as crowded as the weekend. On Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, I usually kayak, hike/walk, swim, sail with friends, toss frisbees/footballs (synthetic, not pigskin), etc. or just soak up some raw sun! Ideally, I would leave Wed July 6th and return Sunday 7/10. This may be affected by my work schedule/opportunities. Camping is, if I remember correctly, $16.00 per night. A sight can take 2 tents, so 4 people or so, which makes camping inexpensive. It's right on Lake Dorena. It's very peaceful there, accept for the occasional lake mosquitos! I usually see deer, eagles, heron, ducks, and other wildlife. If the lake temperature is warm enough I may attempt a 1 mile swim across the lake (it's usually cool for long swims and I'm insulation challenged!) We can purchase cases of awesome raw organic foods for the trip and split it up. Please contact me directly if interested. If there is a lot of interest we can take extra vehicles and get extra campsites. Jeff jeff 206-547-8224
