Guest guest
If you are thinking about moving to a community with some organic raw food support, Bellingham and Ashland are somewhat comparable to Port Townsend with the addition of local universities. They also have food coops supporting local organic growers. Checking their bulletin boards will provide more local information. I don't know if they have prepared raw foods. Bellingham is closer to Seattle time wise than Port Townsend is because it is just a couple hours straight up I-5, and you don't have to take a ferry or drive on slow two-lane roads to get there. Here is the link to the Bellingham Community Food Co-op www.communityfoodcoop.com Ashland in southern Oregon probably has one of the largest raw food communities because the Boutenko family has been teaching classes there for years. There is a large and strong alternative health community in the Ashland area supporting local organic growers. Due to the varied climate there, a wide range of food can be grown locally. Ashland is about 9 hours straight down I-5 from Seattle. Here is the link to the Ashland food cooperative www.acfs.org May your day be filled with clarity, grace, progress, and warm laughter, Roger - " annhuth " <annhuth <RawSeattle > Sunday, June 12, 2005 10:07 AM [RawSeattle] Re: Where do you shop? best places for raw foodists besides farmers markets > -Thats very interesting about Port Townsend I had no idea they were > that supportive of raw foodists.
