Guest guest
Helen, What a bizarre article. I think they're saying that caffeine, alcohol and processed foods are food groups that should be contained in a " balanced " diet and detoxing is only necessary if you're ingesting something toxic (which these are, but since they're food groups they're normal). I don't see any way to defeat such propaganda other than cutting off their funding sources by buying all fresh, organic foods. Guest guest
What they are saying is that the body detoxes itself, which is true, as long as the systems of elimination are working properly. Detoxing is much easier to achieve when you stop putting the junk in to your body that has to be detoxed out. They seem to think that your body will magically keep detoxing out all the poisons all the time. The organs which do that can get worn out when a constant load of poison is being fed to it. As one example, it's well known that a low-fat diet along with exercise will purge plaque out of the coronary arteries and reverse heart disease.
