But I'm not (although I am still in the market for a Nanny job if anyone knows of anyone who wants a raw Nanny, I thought I had a position but the family decided to travel this summer) so I'm posting it here in case anyone is interested or knows someone who might be. The Lettuce Link Program Supervisor is responsible for the operation and direction of the program; work with 30 food banks and meal programs to align Lettuce Link efforts with the needs of food bank recipients and low-income families, and provide gardening and nutrition resources to over 700 low-income individuals each year. Work with 40 local community gardens to support and assist with food bank gardens. Meet with garden coordinators, P-Patch staff, and volunteers to provide technical assistance and schedule weekly produce collection; oversee staff, interns and 50 approximately Lettuce Link volunteers; act as liaison and lead partner in managing Marra Farm, a four-acre community farm run by a coalition of nonprofits and community partners. Supervise the development and implementation of a nutrition and gardening curriculum for schoolchildren participating at Marra Farm, and provide coordination for the Marra Farm Coalition; prepare annual budget, negotiate funding sources and ensure contract compliance; represent and promote FPA and Lettuce Link at community functions. Initiate and implement marketing strategies, and regularly design and deliver community presentations to create broader public awareness of the program and Marra Farm. Organize several major community events each year to promote the Lettuce Link program and to build collaboration with other community organizations working on public gardening and hunger issues; assist with program evaluation and program advocacy. Qualifications: Requires one of the following: (a) Four years of experience with public or private non-profit organizations, including experience in program development and management OR (b) Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience with public or private non-profit organizations OR © any combination of education, experience and measurable performance which demonstrates the capability to perform the duties of this position. Also requires: two years experience in organic farming or urban gardening; one year experience supervising staff and managing volunteers; one year of experience in financial management, contracting and budgeting; excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to make public presentations; ability to work individually in a self-directed manner and as part of a team, as well as represent the agency in community partnerships; excellent organizational skills, initiative and attention to detail; ability to effectively market a program and pursue outreach opportunities; willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of racial, cultural and economic backgrounds, with various lifestyles, sexual orientations, and of all ages; knowledge of local community services and resources available to populations served by the program; access to reliable transportation, valid driver's license, vehicle insurance that meets Washington State’s minimum guidelines and the ability and willingness to travel throughout King County; proficient knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook); and ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends (approximately 5 times per month) to attend community meetings and conduct outreach. Hours and Compensation: This is a part time (30 hour per week) union position, paying $16.37 per hour plus benefits.
