Guest guest
Hello! I was recently emailed regarding our policy on advertising on this email list. While we do not have many written rules on this subject, this list is primarily for discussions of raw vegan food-related issues and we do not accept spam! Having said that... " Advertising " is only acceptable when it is " raw food " related and is considerate of our members. The emails should not be too long or too repetitious. They should be appropriate for our list. We once received an email complete with a raw menu for delivery for a city several thousand miles away. Raw, YES, Appropriate for our list, NO! It was also extremely loooooong! If an event email is raw-related, perhaps an initial (one) email regarding the event, then a (one) reminder closer to the event. Emails should also be brief. The ideal (IMO) is to have a brief email with a link to a web page with detailed information, otherwise ask those interested to email for more information. We have had many raw dinners posted here. I certainly appreciate the information, including the location, date, time, and menu. I appreciate similar information for raw classes. We really haven't discussed what to do with product emails. That hasn't really been a problem (yet.) Again, as long as they are raw-related products, I feel an introduction to RawSeattle of the new product is appropriate (that is, when it is locally produced, such as our own members starting a raw business or introducing new products.) Thanks, Jeff
