Good evening,

Last weekend a cycling buddy of mine received a broken hip in an accident

while cycling home from work. Today he was released from the hospital and

will be home recuperating and is likely to be unable to work or bike for 6

months. I'm trying to find a way to get him the best food for a quick

recovery, because he is in serious financial hardship during this process.

I offered to pay for delivery of organic produce to his house, but he's

concerned that he won't eat it if it doesn't taste good. He's known me well

during the time I converted to raw food, so he's aware of the benefits - but

he's also a little cranky and sometimes difficult to be around.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how I can get him tasty, healing raw

meals without bankrupting myself. He lives in South Park, next to Boeing

Field.

Thank you.

Hi Nick,

I don't know how you'd get this to your friend, unless he or someone

nearby would be willing to do it, but sesame milk is an incredible

bone-mender. I once read Victoria Boutenko talk about her son

drinking loads of the stuff to mend a bone, and have subsequently

tired it twice--when my son broke his leg 2 years ago and when a

friend recently broke her arm. In both cases, they LOVED the milk,

wanted it over anything else (also, because the body generally wants

very little to eat after a shock like that, drinking the milk was

the perfect solution).

I soaked the seeds for a few hours first, but that can be skipped if

you're in a hurry. I think I did something like 2 cups of seeds to

3-4 cups of pure water, blended, then strained through cheese clothe

or a metal strainer. I then added some vanilla and a couple of

dates (and a little stevia for my friend), and blended again. (I

dried the sesame pulp for later use.)

In my experience, they wanted lots of milk for the first few days,

and then it tapered off.

Hope it helps.

Tina,

Thanks for the tip, I've passed it on.
