Guest guest Posted March 15, 2005 Report Share Posted March 15, 2005 I picked up a couple of cases of young coconuts at Central Market over the weekend. I opened one of the coconuts and WOW! It looked soooo fresh! The white " meat " was a crisp white. It wasn't thin and discolored like so many I have had in recent months. I tasted the " water " and it tasted so good compared to recent coconuts (perhaps since Coconutty (Chris from greencoconuts.com) offered fresh sild-picked coconuts at the Living Now festival and the Portland festival. Anyway, on the plastic wrap is an oval sticker with a kind of dark aqua (or is that turquoise... maybe teal?...) trim. It's white inside with " Best " printed in the same aqua color. Try them out. I'll plan to give Central Market a call encouraging them to continue with that company. They get so many different brands of Thai coconuts, I'm sure they could use some feedback. I seem to be at Central Market Daily (since I live around the corner), and will also be sure to tell them this is a supplier to keep!!
