Guest guest
About 2 years ago, in some rainy weather, I was taking my push-scooter to work. The tires were a bit bald, but normally has good traction. As I made a turn just below my house, through some water and leaves, the scooter flew out from under me, along with my legs. I don't know how high I started, but I came down on my side. I got up, wet and dirty, realizing I needed to change, so decided to go home and change. A woman who was entering the intersection from the far side in her car, rolled down her window with a look of shock on her face, asking if I needed help. Other than a scab on my leg and a scratch on my face, I was fine. I guess we raw foodists have good bounce-factor! It would not surprise me if our bones were more springy. I realize our health in general is more vibrant. That would effect our whole body. Glad to hear you're OK! Jeff
Guest guest
Well this is as appropriate a time as any to tell you about Robert's recent exploits. (For those who haven't met Robert Rust, he hails from Whistler, BC but spends a lot of time in Seattle and has been to many raw potlucks. He's been raw for 15 years.) Just before Thanksgiving, he fell from a ladder while picking persimmons in California and sustained a serious skull fracture. He was in ICU for 4 days and all kinds of dire prognoses were being predicted by the doctors. One of them even said he'd be surprised if Robert survived. To say that he wasn't being cared for in a way that is conducive to healing while he was in the hospital would be the understatement of the century. They actually tried to feed him Jell and told him that eating fruit would make his injury heal slower. I 'rescued' him from their clutches on the 5th day and after a few days of quiet rest in a hotel in Santa Cruz he was flown home to his parents' place in northern BC, where he continues to heal and recover. Anyway, the relevant point is that although he didn't bounce too well, ha (he fell on his head on concrete), he is astounding all the doctors with his progress. They said he'd have to be on anti-seizure meds for months and have holes bored in his skull to alleviate pressure from errant blood and other fluids. Not only have neither of those things been necessary, but two weeks after he couldn't walk to the bathroom without help, he was up to walking 5 miles a day. It's not a miracle, it's just what happens when people take care of themselves! Nora Jeff Rogers wrote: > About 2 years ago, in some rainy weather, I was taking my > push-scooter to work.
