Chocolate Persimmons

Nora,

 

Where are you finding these little gems? I ate Chocolate Persimmons in CA a

few years ago and haven't forgotten them. They are delicious! I haven't seen

them in the Pac. NW!

I've got chocolate persimmons in Central Market last year but haven't seen

them yet this year. They do have a sort of chocolate flavor, amazing.

 

Persimmons in PCC are very good. They have both Fuyu and Hachia. Prices are

not bad either. I bought them a week ago now most of the hachias are

already very ripe. These Fuyus brix 17, 18 and hachias brix reach up to 23.

Hachias always brix higher than Fuyu.

This morning Central had conventional fuyus for 50 cents each, and the

chocolate ones (non-organic) were $1.98 ea. (ouch). A couple weeks ago they

were .98 each, so maybe they'll come down again.
