Guest guest
Hi Ron, I'm sure you've heard of the CHIP program. My aunt is a coordiator for the cooking classes in the Napa Valley in CA. CHIP is a vegan program, but what's very interesting is that the SDA community in the Napa Valley seem to be the most resistant. The majority of the people going to the seminars and classes at the Calistoga SDA church are non-SDA meat-eaters...go figure. There's also talk of starting to sell meat at the College Market in Angwin, which is an Adventist community, and where Pacific Union College is. I'm not sure how to answer that as I can't speak for others and the decisions they make. Ron RawSeattle , Sheree <goldenrae2001> wrote: > Yes, it is quite scary. My grandmother is in a Seventh Day Adventist retirement community and pays a great deal for the unhealthy, fatty slop that's served in the cafeteria. And SDA's are supposed to be healthy according to their religion...she only eats salads and beans there and buys her own food for her apartment. She's mostly raw, btw. It makes me so angry that they don't provide vegan options of the casseroles and other dishes they make. > > sheree > > M <milarepa@c...> wrote: > Scary, isn't it?
