Hello Star!

I know of a place that can help in to

support your efforts with the use of the raw food diet

and herbs. Not only is it free, but it is very active

and caring. You will get an answer to your questions

within 24 hours at the most. Active group so you

might want to go digest, okay?

(I have also included below, some tips on hidden traps

in the raw food diet that means you could think you

were eating 100% raw and were not.)

The group is called HAWK

(Health_Awareness_Wisdom_Knowledge) Here is their site

address on .

http://health.HAWK_Health_Awareness/?yguid=109528268

When I went there I ate SAD, was 313 pounds, on 17

meds and my problems ranged from breast tumors (I had

survived ovarian stage four in 1991 by going to raw

fruit juices and Essaic tea but went bad to SAD later,

darn it.) to type two diabetes, asthma, allergies from

hell, shortness of breath, crippled by arthritis,

(using two canes just to walk to the bathroom) high

blood pressure, irregular heart beat, Gerd, eye site

loss from the diabetes, severe depression, bone

thinning, chronic anemia, fainting, and the worst was

the severe loss of memory, both short term and long

term.

Even the Chinese acupuncturist I went to in San

Fransisco was unable to use needles on me as I was so

sick. He had to use heating pads and pressure instead

and still I fainted twice on him. When the

acupuncturist is scared for you it is time to wake up

and make some changes.

I was invited to the HAWK group after I joined another

group that had way too much mail for me (2000 plus

members and EXTREMELY active.)

The Moderators in HAWK are Suzi, John, and Don who are

awesome people and very knowledgeable about the use of

raw food to get well, coupled with the use of herbs to

combat illness. They taught me some great detoxes

that I could use to relieve the stress on my body,

liver, kidneys and heart. (I had IBS and looming

Kidney failure too.)

Some one there introduced me to Storm and Jinjee who

have been a tremendous help. I bought their on line

books and even my hubby read them. Here is their site

address too.

Forum is free to join.

Here is the site for their home page which lead me to

info on Demi Moore eating raw and their books.

Today (In three months) I have gone from walking with

canes to no canes at all, (I have the most awesome

Atals Orthogonal Chiropractor ever who supports me

totally!) no more meds, no asthma, allergies, diabetes

controlled (of those meds as well) Tumors shrunk so

much that I had one small lump removed with only local

instead of the double simple mastectomies the doctors

wanted to do, lower then 275 pounds and still dropping

weight and inches, no Gerd when I eat right, (heaven

help me if I eat cooked - ouch!) I can walk long

distances on the flat without losing breath and even

climb stairs without pain, not anemic any more, eyes

are doing so good my glasses had to be lightened, my

hearing is better, my mind is clear, my depression is

better, and my arthritis is nearly gone!

I learned one thing from this... It is very important

to build yourself a support network to help you when

the cravings of food for comfort hit you or when you

are having a bad day. This is why I have included the

address to the other sites. no to be pushy, but

because it can seem that the entire culture is puching

you to conform. Doctors often will be non-supportive,

and friends and family maybe horrified and resistant

to your changes. Face it, change is threatening to

some folks.

I congratulate you, Going 100% raw is half the battle

and the biggest step of all.

However you might have some hidden things in your diet

that could trip you up. (I learned all of these the

hard way.)

1. Distilled water is a must. Reverse Osmosis is the

best but even a Brita pitcher filter system will help,

although PUR is better. Both can normally be found

second hand at thrift stores for about 4 or 5 bucks.

Just wash out and install a new filter.

2. Many of the spices and herbs we get via the super

market are treated at very high heat, therefore making

them not only dead, but enough to ruin the effort you

are making. I have a great herbalist I go to for mine

and there are some great ones on line too. Some

stores specialize in organic and green foods, so I

would check that out. PCC, Traders Joe's, and Town

and Country are all good for various organic Veggies.

PCC and Trader Joe's are good for herbs, but PCC is

the best.

Get an electric coffee grinder and grind up your own

spices, barks, nuts (like nutmeg) and so forth. It

requires more research I know, but it is important.

You can call the 800 numbers of companies to find out

how a spice is prepared.

3. If you are using honey, most of it has been heated

way over 300 degrees. Raw is anything under 118. The

honey MUST state that it has NOT BEEN HEATED!

Unfortunately honey can state raw and organic and

still be heated. Almost any food can, and its just

wrong.

4. You must sprout all nuts, grains, and seeds before

consuming. By soaking your raw almonds, they will

plump up which is great. But make sure they have not

been heated to kill off bugs. Raw sunflower seeds

sprout great and are a delight on salad. Oat grouts

have been heated past 200 as well, so you have to

again do research to make sure what has and has not be

heated during processing.

You can easily sprout things like brown mustard seeds,

broccoli, and alfalfa for nice fresh additions to your

salads. Just make sure the seeds are organic cause

the pesticide on normal seeds not only tastes awful,

but pesticides are made to stop normal glandular

function, stop reproduction, and stop breathing. Lost

of my illness were cleared up just by going organic.

5. There are some questions about how much fruit is

safe to eat. Victoria let the kids just consume all

they wanted depending on their cravings. This can be

hard on those of us who DON'T know what we are

craving. Sometimes organic is not enough. Raisins

and dates and some others are heated to very high

heat. I love dates and it is a real bear trying to

find some that have not been heated to high heats.

6. It really helps to try to eat seasonally. IF its

winter, then LOCALLY grown organic is safest. Lots of

kale and cabbage and so on. If you are buying organic

in winter, they are probably grown in Mexico which

makes the organic dicey, not to mention the hauling of

the product cross country not only lessens the

freshness, but is bad for the planet as well. There

is a really big movement to learn to eat what is

available in that season. It keeps your body more in

tune with the planet and itself. Just a thought.

Here is a site to help you find local organic food.

http://www.localharvest.org/

So please do join in with us at hawk health. You

might want to go digest as it's a heavier volume

group. I do think that Dona nd the rest can help you

support your raw fooding with some herbs that will

help you get better.

Kind regards

Laura Haddaway

WoW! Laura, what an inspiration you are! I am truly overwhelmed and

amazed by your post and want to let you know how much I appreciated your

sharing. What an ordeal to go through and return from. I know I could learn

a lot from you, your personal experience, and your success story, so far.

Would you kindly keep posting as you continue healing? I, for one, would

love hearing from you. I am thrilled that you found wonderful practitioners

to work with. They are worth their weight in gold!

May I ask if your Atals Orthogonal Chiropractor in or even near the Bay Area

as well as, your Chinese Acupuncturist. I am considering dropping my

medical insurance policy as I can no longer afford it, and if I tried to

find another, my application would probably be turned down, due to some

conditions I have. Unless, there is a dire emergency or I need surgery, I

do use holistic and alternative practitioners anyway. Over time, I'm sorry

to say, most of my favorites have moved out of the area or to another state.

Well for now,

Have a Wonder New Year Celebration!!

Sasha
