Lots of memos to reply to!

re better moods on raw foods, I've really felt calmer on raw vegan,

especially 80-10-10, and moods have been a big thing for me. I also attend

a local 12-step group for people with food problems, and they place a lot of

importance on connecting with spirit. Lately I have been able to do this

more and more, for the first time in my middle-aged life, and wow, does that

help. I am more comfortable with people (don't have that food buzz going

all the time), and I also love them more.

Re: what's the best diet, etc. I always had this thing that I might be

doing the wrong thing, especially eating, and also trying to raise my kids

with a healthy diet. (You think you have problems deciding for just

yourself, try being responsible for other people too!) Anyway, I try to

compare what things would be like in a natural state. Should all rabbits

eat the same thing, or do some rabbit bodies need to eat road kill several

times a week to stay healthy; do plants have to believe in photosynthesis

for it to work; isn't it strange that we're absolutely the only animal that

cooks its food? Is just because it's raw make it ok to eat? If our bodies

are designed to eat the whole food, why use supplements; wouldn't that upset

the balance of our bodies? And if you think we're a special case, and we've

evolved away from what was once intended for us, for as long as humans have

eaten meat (compared to the period of not), we still haven't evolved really

effective dental and digestive equipment for it, for example. This doesn't

give me all the answers, but it really helps trying to think of what would

be natural. One day I realized that even if I might have some deficiency on

this new diet, it is so many times better than what I had my kids on before.

Maybe when we have diet questions, we have underlying fears that should be

addressed at the same time.

Re: itching, sometimes when I eat cooked food, I do get an itch, sometimes

all over, sometimes just on my face. I and my husband also notice a

fever-like feeling whenever we eat cooked. This would also tie into

someone's question about an immune system reaction of the body to cooked

food.

Happy holidays, everyone,

Love, Kathy

I am so happy I posted that question here. When I mentioned the

itching after eating cooked foods to friends and relatives you

wouldn't believe the looks I got. My aunt went as far as to say it

was nuts to think cooked food would cause that reaction. Thanks to

everyone who responded.Oh yea, I also notice that my mood drops as

well. I don't feel depressed, but I feel blah and just void of

enthusiasm. Since I'm usually bubbly and upbeat I can tell the

difference immediately.
