Guest guest
I thought the following two articles were interesting...just thought I'd share them in case anyone is curious... When healthy nutrition becomes an eating disorder: Orthorexia http://www.beyondveg.com/billings-t/orthorexia/orthorexia-1a.shtml Health Food Junkie http://www.beyondveg.com/bratman-s/hfj/hf-junkie-1a.shtml Everyone of course is free to form their own opinions and interpretations of the above...whether pro or con. Guest guest
Thanks, Christy, these are great articles; a lot of 'food' for thought! I know I could easily become obsessive in this area, and while I know I have to be careful for my own sake, I don't want to become crazed! Right now, with where I am, being new to this and all, I have found if I open the door to cooked food right now, it is just too much of a trigger for a major binge. But I am definitely relaxing within the boundaries of raw food. IFor example, if I can't find organic, then the conventional veggies/fruits will do. Percentages? I know I feel better if I eat lower in fat, but I'm not going to worry about indulging now and then. Life is too short! The other aspect of this that is emphasized by many of the veteran teachers is that food is only one part of it--sleep, sunshine, fresh air, exercise, are all important parts of becoming well and living happily and healthfully. I'm trying to put more of my energy into those areas as well, and learning to enjoy the ride, so to speak! Thanks for sharing these! Peace, Valerie Christy <yogafreeze wrote: I thought the following two articles were interesting...just thought I'd share them in case anyone is curious... Guest guest
You're welcome Valerie. I need to concentrate more on the exercise and sunshine as well. Between work and classes I'm indoors most of the time and need to exercise more often. I feel so much better after running or riding my bike.
