Guest guest
Several people here have written about food addiction, a subject that is not very well known generally, and one that we could easily imagine would heal itself on a raw food diet, like we claim happens with all other physical ailments. Yet compulsive overeating is a significant problem in our culture, and it shouldn't come as a surprise that this addiction doesn't just go away when we move to a raw food diet. Compulsive overeating can destroy lives, just as addictions to other substances (alcohol and other drugs) and behaviors (gambling, sex, and codependent relationships) do. If you're interested in finding out more about compulsive overeating in an environment that supports raw vegans, check out the group called RawVeganOA. Here's the intro to the group: This group is for compulsive eaters following the Overeaters Anonymous program who wish to eat a raw vegan diet. However, in the spirit of Tradition Three we welcome everyone seeking recovery from compulsive eating regardless of the food they choose to eat. As many group members are still trying to achieve a raw vegan diet, discussion of Victoria Boutenko's " 12 Steps to Raw Foods " is acceptable as a topic. To find the group, go to and under Join a Group search for RawVeganOA. Steve
