This practice is also known as solar healing, solar gazing, sun staring, sun yoga, and solar yoga. Sungazing has been practiced by a number of cultures in many areas around the world throughout history and is continuing to the present day. About HRM: Hira Ratan Manek (HRM), a retired engineer from India, has researched ancient texts and " rediscovered " sungazing, learning how to live on sunlight. He has not eaten for 8 years, other than a rare and tiny sip of tea, coffee, or buttermilk. In the process, he has achieved perfect health, spiritual awakening, and unusual mental powers. There have been reports of sungazers enjoying incredibly long lifespans. He has been studied by the medical community, major research universities, and by scientists performing research for NASA; all studies have supported and validated his claims and practices. Testimonials: Aug 2004 Cecelia Cole duet2gether Last week I went to a meeting about deriving energy from the sun. HRM, the speaker, hasn't eaten anything in 10 years. He did have muscle tone. Most of all I was impressed when I shook his hand. I felt a certain type of kindness I'd never felt before. He says within 3 months you should receive significant health benefits; within 6 months, any major disease should disappear; after 6 - 9 months hunger disappears, and with it, comes great spiritual benefits. He often goes for long periods of time without sleeping. His average sleep per night is 2 - 3 hours. I spoke with one guy who said felt lots of unique energy coming from HRM as he lectured. Mon, 20 Sep 2004 " yota_programmer " yota1 Today I just finished the 3 months of SG according to the instruction of HRM in his site and in this group. I have a deep respect to HRM for revealing this method to all of us, and I don't know how to thank him and all the rest of you dear sungazers for sharing your reports of SG with all, and encourage all to continue further. From Frederic Patenaude last newsletter, Summer 2004: “I ran across some information that could change your life. The sun can be used to heal the mind, body and spirit as demonstrated by Hira Ratan Manek, who has not eaten solid food for over 7 years.” Additional information: rawpaleodiet.org/sungazing/ Sunbathing helps heal almost everything: healself.org/sun.html Sungazing Discussion Group: sungazing
