Cherie Soria is the founder and director of Living Light Culinary Arts Institute

and author of Angel Foods: Healthy Recipes for Heavenly Bodies. Cherie, often

refer to her as the mother of raw gourmet cuisine, has trained many of the top

raw food chefs today. She began her love affair with culinary arts at the age of

12, when she won her first cooking contest and went on to become one of the

world's leading vegetarian cooks.

In 1990, after teaching vegetarian cuisine for nearly twenty years, Cherie

studied with Dr. Ann Wigmore and learned the principles of using whole, live

foods to aid in healing and rejuvenation. Inspired and motivated, she went on to

develop gourmet raw culinary arts by combining the two worlds of gourmet

vegetarian food preparation and raw vegan simplicity that is known today as

gourmet raw vegan cuisine. She began immediately sharing this exciting new art

with students from around the world.

In 1996, after publishing Angel Foods, Cherie founded Living Light Culinary Arts

Institute for individuals, chefs, and instructors of raw culinary arts. Some of

the people Cherie has trained are a veritable who's who in the world of raw

cuisine. People like Roxanne Klein, Chad Sarno, Renee Loux Underkoffler, Suzanne

Alex Ferrara, the Boutenkos, Matt Samuelson, Elaina Love, and many others.

Cherie was the recent recipient of both the Golden Branch Award, presented by

the International Raw & Living Foods Association, and the 24 Carrot Award,

presented by Vegetarians In Paradise web magazine. She is devoted to teaching

teachers of raw vegan culinary arts and has personally trained nearly 400 raw

vegan culinary instructors from over 20 countries.

Cherie says, I experience great joy connecting personally with students and

helping them to become the best that they can be not only as raw food chefs, but

as radiant, inspiring teachers. The key is to accept people where they are on

their path and fuel the light that shines within them!
