Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm relatively new to the raw/living foods world. I live in Japan. I managed to find some organic lentils in the macrobiotic section of the one tiny health food store we have here. I bought both green and red lentils. The green lentils have sprouted beautifully, but no matter how much I try to sprout the red ones, they won't grow. 1.) I was wondering if red lentils, in general, don't sprout? Or maybe I just got a bad batch? 2.)My second question is: how do you clean/sterilize your sprout bags and jars? 3.) While rejuvelac is fermenting, should it be kept out of direct and indirect sunlight? Thanks in advance! Andrea Okinawa, Japan
Guest guest
From my understanding, the beans should be for sprouts only, and if it doesn't sprouts, doesn't mean it is bad. You can cook it instead. I order mine online that are for sprouting only, because I find not all will sprouts regardless. After every use and before you start a new one, always wash with hot soap and water. You might want to use little bit of hydrogen peroxide to assure the cleaning. Rejuvelac must be in the dark. If you do search on it, you might find some instruction on it. good luck and have fun. Tina
