Guest guest
Hi, I decided it was about time to introduce myself since I signed on about a month ago but then my back got so bad I couldn't sit at the computer. I need surgery and don't think raw will change that but it is getting me in the best shape for the procedure that I can be in. I have chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure and had a heart attack a year ago. I am 63 and live in Tacoma, WA. I have been about 90% raw for nearly 3 months this time. I have lost 25 pounds with 25 more to go. I have also been able to stop 2 of the 3 blood pressure meds I have been taking. I left off the other one this morning but will take it again if my heart rate starts to go crazy again. It goes real fast or real slow and changes from one to the other in just a few seconds. I have several " uncook books " but usually keep it pretty simple. I make rejuvalac and seed cheese. I have come up with a dehydrated rye sprout cracker that taste pretty good. I have made sprout bread in the dehydrator a few times but don't have it quite right yet. I cheated and did a slow bake one yesterday. It tasted like the Manna bread that I have bought a few times. So now I know their's is baked and not dehydrated even tho it doesn't say that on the label. I am going to try to make hazel nut butter in the Champion juicer this afternoon. I have heard that works but have not tried it before. I use that juicer and an old Excalibur dehydrator plus an assortment of choppers and graters that I have gotten from thrift stores and yard sales over the years. An old dishwasher that I never used for that purpose makes a great place to sprout seeds and grains! Is anyone else doing wheat grass? It is a lot of work but seems to be worth it. I have the manual juicer but hope to get an electric one some day. I am looking forward to getting to know you all better and learning how you make the diet work for you. Hugs, CaraLea
