Guest guest
Hi, I'm 25 and for the most of my life, the last almost 20 years, I've been having symptoms that no doctor's ever been able to help me with (though they never really tried, didn't seem to care to). Symptoms increased and got worse and worse as I got older. Physical ones, then mental ones too. Recently, after having been on Zoloft for 6 years (which didn't help much with any of my symptoms but helped me be more complacent with them), it got to the point where this can't go on anymore, I got off the Zoloft and began searching for real answers and possible ways to fix the problems. I had an all raw vegan diet and " master cleanse " strongly recommended to me, and found out about systemic candida overgrowth and leaky gut. Both have begun to make a lot of sense -- and the candida, going by the " spit test " , my symptoms and history with antibiotics (I was pretty much raised on them, they started being prescribed to me as a toddler for strep throats and acute sinus infections, took them on a regular basis during childhood, took more antibiotics than I ate healthy foods), I'm sure I'm a textbook case of it. And it's what I think I should begin tackling first. I'm hoping someone here can help me with that, with the diet part. The candida diet is very limited, most fruits are no-nos because of the sugar. I'm going to post what I'll be allowed to eat according to the program I've decided to go with -- " Candistroy " , recommended by my local health food store -- it's pretty much the same as the lists I've found online. I'll have to be on it for 6 months. I'm only going to post the raw vegan selections because, of course this is a raw foods group and because they're the only ones I'll be able to have -- for about 5 years now, for personal reasons I've been vegan (though certainly not a healthy-eating one -- lots of soy, which now I'm reading about how it's one of the worst things you can eat, carbs, cooked, processed) and will not eat any animal products, no matter what. What I'm hoping is that someone will help me, by directing me with regard to how to combine these foods, when to eat them and how much. I'll need help because I'm new to the raw diet, and new to eating for health -- I've always eaten only for social and psychological reasons -- you know, cravings, eating for pleasure to forget, for distraction. I don't have any concerns about how difficult this will be, or that I'll turn back. I know it will be hard but I'm ready to give up the unhealthy eating for good -- I can't take it anymore. It's disgusting to me now. Yeah it'll be hard but not nearly as hard as going on like this for much longer. If anyone can help with regard to how to eat these foods properly *please* reply asap. Here's the list: - All veggies and veggie juices except for carrots and beets - lemons, limes, cranberries, Granny Smith (green) apples - almonds and seeds Thank you, Ann
Guest guest
There is a book called " The Body Ecology diet " and it specifically addresses candida as it's main focus. It's not a raw food book so I don't recommend everything in the book but it was one of the last non- raw diet books I read before going raw. Also when going raw I found it helpful to spice my salads up a bit. I add a clove or 2 of garlic to my salads. If you really want to dive into the raw world, then gabriel cousins books are highly recommended as well as david wolfe. The more you read, the more you will be motivated! rawfood , " annm_searching " <annm_searching> wrote: > Hi, > I'm 25 and for the most of my life, the last almost 20 years, I've > been having symptoms that no doctor's ever been able to help me with > (though they never really tried, didn't seem to care to).
