Guest guest
Does anyone have any recipes for a raw food 'granola' type bar that I could make to take to work in my lunch box? I've been taking salads and fruit, but, well, as someone else on the board mentioned, that 'candy bar' craving at break time DOES kind of sneak up on ya!! So far I have not surrendered, but I thought if I could pack a raw food bar [there used to be something awesome in England that was all kinds of raw goodies compacted into a chewy snack bar...] I'd be able to feel sanctimonious while indulging in something that was actually good for me! Any ideas, anyone, please? Peace be with your spirit, rainbow ===== " A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt. He said, I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one. The grandson asked him, Which wolf will win the fight in your heart? The grandfather answered, The one I feed. "
Guest guest
Here's the ingredients on the back of a raw granola-sort of bar that I bought: Sesame seeds, mangoes, dates, bananas, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds. It says ingredients are soaked, germinated and dehydrated. You could probably make up any combination of fruits and seeds/ nuts and mash them together and dehydrate them a little, or even just leave it sticky. Ever made raw halvah? That could be a great work treat too! It's just 1 1/2 cups almonds 1/2 cup raw tahini 2 tblsp honey 1 tblsp + 1 tsp carob powder You grind the almonds into a powder, mix the tahini and honey in well. Then spread out half the mixture on a plate or pan. Add the carob to the other half and spread that mixture on top of the first. Refrigerate one hour, then cut into squares and either leave them that way, or roll them up into balls. They're awesome! Lyris
