Guest guest
I spoke to Martina Navratilova a couple of years ago or so. She was a raw foodist in 1993 and 94, but she isn't anymore. In fact, she isn't even a vegetarian anymore. One way to tell is to look and see the big patches under her eyes. I never see that in long term raw foodists. I have seen it in new raw foodists because they are still healing. But generally we don't have the pudgy patches under the eyes. I believe it's related to a kidney problem. If you exercise and fairly healthy you can go a long time. But I venture to say she'd do much better while maintaining a 100% raw food diet. From what she told me, it seems she simply didn't know enough about it. She had expert guidance but people are sometimes stubborn. There is no question now that cooking anything creates hundreds if not thousands of toxic molecules in a food that before it was cooked had none of those new molecules. Cooking is a form of chemistry. Even just steaming vegetables creates all sorts of chemical compounds that are carcinogenic and mutagenic to the human body. I haven't been following the boards lately. But there is a great book that you can all get and it will be shipped to you free. At least in the United States and while supplies last. This is a must read for raw foodists. I don't agree with all the premises but there is so much valuable information. If you read this book you may never want to go back to cooked or refined food in any way. It's called Genefit Nutrition. Go here and see if you can get a free copy, they are only giving away 1,000 free, so hurry up. Here's the link: http://www.genefitnutrition.com/gift.html There is extensive study behind this book and a testimonial by Harvey Diamond of " Fit for Life " fame.
