Hi Kathy,

I went through some of the archives today and have an email in to someone

who did use an oil blend in a spray bottle. She said she sprayed it and was

able to wipe the mold right off and it never came back. She used a blend

called Purification but I can find out what her recipe is and then maybe you

could

just use the same strength if you are wanting to use the Tea Tree. Most

everyone that has had success has used a diffuser. I was the one who posted

using Thieves in a spray bottle. I have the Thieves cleaner which is a

concentrated cleaner containing the oils that are contained in this blend. I

then

took the blend and added about 20 drops to the cleaner which I had diluted with

water 50/50.

The tea tree was mentioned when Linda posted the oils that could be used on

mold out of the Essential Oils Desk Reference. Unfortunately, I couldn't

find any testimonials on Tea Tree but I am anxious to have you try it and see

how it works!

If and when the person writes me back, I'll let you know!!!

Sandy

Two powerful essential oil fungicides are Tea Tree Oil and Oil of Oregano.

OofO is the most powerful. I'd use a small eye dropper and drop some right

on the mouldy areas and then brush it in with an old toothbrush. Remember

this is just the first step, getting rid of the existing mould. The follow

it up with vinegar spray following each cleaning. Keep it acidic. All that

soapy stuff and bathroom cleaners are alkaline and mould thrives in moist

alkaline environments.

rusty.
