Guest guest
Rich, You mentioned in an earlier post that you wanted an avocado but you weren't going to submit to the urge to eat one. I am new to the raw foods world, so I must ask why? I *love* avocados and was counting on eating avocados during and after the transition to raw foods...are they not an integral part of the raw foods diet? Thanks for indulging my question. Guest guest
I just meant that I was going to try to clean up even my raw food meals by having meals instead of just grabbing for whatever raw food I want whenever I want it. If I'm going to eat avocado or anything else, I want it to be for nutritional reasons and not to appease awful emotions. Avocadoes are a staple of my diet, they're different than any other raw food, they have that fatty sensation and they're not sweet. Very filling compared to lettuce or something like that. No, I eat avocadoes a lot, and I think it's a good way to get going with the raw food diet. Some raw food like avocadoes, bananas, dates, grapes (to some degree), and raw nuts can be binged on for emotional relief purposes. My goal is to not do that, but if I do, it's better than eating non-raw. I'll probably always eat avocadoes, like you said, before and after the transition. I would like to give up raw nuts someday though, I'm just not comfortable with them.
