Angela, I think you misunderstood me. Valarie said she's been a vegetarian. She didn't say she's been a vegan. A vegan, according to me and apparently the majority of people, is a person who does not eat any animal products whatsoever; or, who at least to his/her best knowledge avoids eating these kinds of products. Accidents can happen of course. The noun " vegetarian " on the other hand, is not as clear cut as " vegan " . Plenty of people calling themselves vegetarians, eat dairy, eggs, fish, or even other animal products. Ever heard someone say: " I'm a vegetarian, but I eat [some type of animal product/s] " ? I've never heard someone say: " I'm a vegan, but I eat [some kind of animal substance/s] " . Not all people who eat some animal product/s, don't even add the conjunction " but " to their assertions of being vegetarians. I really don't care what meanings people put in words, as long as I understand what they're talking about. Based on my observation of how the word " vegetarian " is used, I just chose to assume that Valarie has been eating some animal product/s. I didn't claim that my assumtion was correct. I could have chosen to assume the opposite if I had wanted. Now it's up to Valarie to clear things up. I hope she does. Whatever she eats is find with me. I'm just curious of what she means by being a vegetarian.
