I would like to just grind up some organic brown rice and cook it for him. I would like to avoid processed foods if at all possible. Thanks My daughter is 8 months old and I make all of my own baby food. I will be getting her iron levels checked next month to see if she needs any supplementation, but I know she loves my homemade food over store bought food. I have bought organic store bought foods when I was tired, and she won't eat them. I bought a book called: Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron.. A really good book on making your own baby food and nutritional needs of babies and younger children! And I have been reading the issues about kids wanting to eat meat. I wanted to be a vegetarian since I was 9 years old, and my parents refused to support that. I ate veggies when I was little and as little meat as I could get away with, and really resented the fact that my parents made me eat meat. I have been vegetarian now for 15 years and am raising my 8 month old vegetarian. Her dad eats meat, but is okay with me raising our daughter vegetarian. My 16 year old adopted daughter (who was 6 when I adopted her) eats meat and I have never made her meat in the house. If she wants meat, she goes out to get it or goes to a friend's house. I think I will be crushed if my 8 month old decides to eat meat ( I think I will cry for a week), but that will be her decision. I will never serve her meat as a meal in my house. I just hope that my reasons for not eating meat will be her reasons as well. It is hard when our children make different decisions than we do. laurie wrote: For more information about vegetarianism, please visit the VRG website at http://www.vrg.org and for materials especially useful for families go to http://www.vrg.org/family. Guest guest
Eat broccoli, bell pepper, spinach, any other vegetable you can think of, apples, pears, grapes, any other fruit you can think of, and rely on raw nuts and seeds if you need them.
