Guest guest
Hi I am what the doctors call a 'terminal case' having skin cancer that is not in my liver and a lung. In December 2003 I was given between 6 months and a year to live - of which 50% would be quality time and 50% would be heavily impaired by my condition. I visited the Bristol Cancer Care Clinic and began to change my diet and lifestyle in February. Against the odds, I have responded to chemotherapy - my cancers having been reduced by nearly 50% in size since March. But I chemotherapy alone will not bring me into remission (No Evidence of Disease) as my body dan only take it for a further 9 weeks. I believe that diet - and particularly eating raw fruits and vegetables - organically grown - has helped me beat the odds so far. I also believe that a sense of wellbeing generated by trying to do good and help others - has also helped me. If you are in doubt - an addition of New Scientist earlier this year explored the curative powers of aspirin - and hey-presto suggested that the modern and processed diets lacked a number of trace vital vitamins - some of which happen to be within aspirin (which is made from the bark of willow). Plus the article said that organically grown foods contain up to 6 times the level of these vitamins as compared to normally processed fruit and veg. Yesterday I met some friends for a meal and they brought a friend from Singapore visiting the UK. In our conversation I mentioned dietary constraints and health. He then began to explain taichi and ying and yang and the phylosophy of yoga to me. He also defined a calling - relating to core values. I would be very interested in hearing more of this - and joining groups (Surrey UK) who are into using meditation and such techniques to regain balance within the body to facilitate healing.
